Clinton Women Loses in PK's 2-1 against Herkimer CCC

Herkimer-Clinton Community College Women’s soccer team lost 2-1 on penalty kicks against Herkimer County Community College in the opening round of the NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament.

Head Coach Donna Dixon said, “We knew Herkimer was going to come out and put pressure on us. They were home and on their field so you knew they were going to play hard.”

Krissy Bullock scored on an assist from Jordan Clark at 12:19 in the second half.

In the first 10 minute overtime there were battles at the midfield. In the second overtime Dixon said there was more scoring opportunities.

In the penalty kick situation Clinton went first with Meagan Bechard scoring. Tera Coates, Kaelyn Scott and Chelsea Barcomb all had their shots denied.

Herkimer shot second all three of their players scored.

Coach Dixon said,”Either team could have won. It is unfortunate that it had to go to penalty kicks.”

Coach Dixon had a lot of praise for her team. “It was an entire team effort for us today. Everyone played well. I think our team had a lot of character, heart, desire and commitment.”
