Date/Time/Place
CCC's Winter Commencement is Friday, December 18, 2009 in the Forrence Center gymnasium. The ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.
Graduates should plan to arrive on campus no later than 5:00 p.m. and proceed directly to Cougar's Den for robing and line-up. Graduates will follow behind the faculty in the processional.
Graduation Rehearsal
Rehearsal will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 18th in the Forrence Center gymnasium. The President will brief the graduates and lead them through the rehearsal process.
Caps & Gowns
Caps and gowns may be picked up from the Bookstore during business hours.
Pick up your gown early. The Cage in the Forrence Center will be open for the return of student honor hoods immediately following ceremony.
Seating: Ushers will begin seating guests at 5:00 p.m.
Assembly and Lineup: Graduates, please be ready for assembly in the gymnasium hallway by 5:00 p.m.
Parking
Ample parking is available. Special needs’ parking and entrance is located near the lower west side of the building. Buildings and Grounds staff will be on duty to help answer questions.
Photography
Family members will be given the opportunity to approach the center aisle to take graduate's photos as they receive their degrees. The College will take photos of individual graduates.
Diplomas
During the ceremony graduates will receive a diploma cover without the actual diploma.
The actual diplomas will be mailed approximately the week of (TBA) 2009.
Please inform the Registrar of address changes.
Clothing
All graduates will wear the traditional cap and gown. It is best to wear seasonally appropriate clothing underneath for comfort.
Phi Theta Kappa Members
Members of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible to wear additional regalia and should contact a PTK advisor with any questions.
Honors Graduates
Students graduating with honors should wear special honor hoods with their cap and gown. Hoods are to be returned to the Cage in the gymnasium immediately following the ceremony.
Special Note To CCC Graduates: There is no designated place to leave personal belongings or valuables during the ceremony. All items, including pocketbooks, should be carried with you or given to a friend or family member for safekeeping.
There will be refreshments immediately following the ceremony.
