Monday, October 16, 2006

Dr. Maurice Hickey, president of Clinton Community College, Dr. Paul Almonte, CCC vice president academic affairs, Dr. Barry Mack, director CV-TEC and Tom Ryan, CV-TEC principal, met recently to sign an articulation agreement between the college’s Computer Information Systems A.A.S. and the CV-TEC Computer Technology Program. The agreement establishes the guidelines for granting college credit for coursework performed by students in the Computer Technologies program at CV-TEC.

The agreement objectives are: to attract qualified students to both the CCC Computer Information Systems A.A.S. degree program and CV-TEC’s Computer Technology program, to provide information to students wishing to pursue a career in the computer technology field, to facilitate communication and academic coordination between faculty, students, and administrators at each institution and to promote efficient transfer of qualified graduates from CV-TEC to CCC.

“We are pleased to enter into these agreements with CV-TEC,” said Dr. Maurice Hickey, CCC president. “These opportunities will allow individuals to start their career at CV-TEC and seamlessly transfer to Clinton to earn a technical degree.”

Dr. Barry Mack added, "This agreement allows students a great opportunity to earn a full semester of college credit while at CV-TEC. Students can get up to 12 credits at CCC for work done at CV-TEC.”
Dr. Paul Almonte, vice president of academic affairs at Clinton added that he was, “particularly appreciative of Professors Ford and Poland’s collaborative efforts with their CV-TEC counterparts in developing the agreement and ensuring curricular consistency and high standards for these courses.”
