CCC Club Fundraiser Helps Local Organization
Tuesday, December 19, 2006
The Criminal Justice Club of Clinton Community College sponsored a fundraiser to help support victims of domestic violence in Clinton County. The Club raised $200, which they donated to Stop Domestic Violence of Clinton County in a formal ceremony held recently at the College. Maxine Perry, a CCC alumna and representative for the Stop Domestic Violence program, accepted the $200 check from CJ Club President Shannon Glode, December 2006 honors graduate and Vice-President Andrew Witt. The CJ Club fundraiser for Stop Domestic Violence is held annually during the holiday season.
“It was my pleasure to provide leadership to the CJ Club in order to support such a worthy and important cause as Stop Domestic Violence. As a woman, and as someone who is interested in law, I take very seriously the plight of the victim in this most disturbing form of criminal violence in our society,” expressed Shannon Glode, CJ Club president. “I hope that what the club did with this donation can somehow make a difference for victims of domestic violence in Clinton County.”
Members of the CJ Club and their advisors, Professor John Mockry and Associate Professor Catherine Eloranto, also participate in the RSVP Bowl-a-thon, a fundraiser for Retired Senior Volunteer Participants, which takes place during the spring semester.
