No experience with a computer? This is the program for you. It is basic, showing you how to turn on the computer, how the keyboard functions, providing you with computer vocabulary and personalized hands-on experience.Certificate of residency required.
Introduction to the Internet
Participants will be provided with a basic introduction to the internet and email through this exciting workshop. After completing this course, you will be able to email friends and family and view pictures over the internet. You will also be able to do internet searches and navigate websites. This course requires some familiarity with a computer. Certificate of residency is required.
Write Down Memory Lane
Baby Boomers and beyond tap their rich personal histories for posterity and publication in this creative nonfiction workshop. Participants should come to class with writing implements and paper.
Middle Eastern Dance for Fun & Fitness for Seniors
Dance your way to fun and fitness with Liesa, professional dancer and instructor with over 20 years experience. This course is geared towards seniors utilizing the gentler movements of creative dance , such as graceful arm waves, and simple body sways. Learn the basics of the beautiful art of Middle Eastern Dance at your own pace while you energize, tone, and shape up to the mesmerizing rhythms of the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean, as well as modern fusion music. You’ll love it! Wear workout or yoga type gear & bare feet, socks, or ballet slippers. Hip scarves available for class use.
Introduction to Acting
Participants will learn the basics of creating imaginary worlds and believable characters through fun, interactive activities. A sample of monologues and scenes from award-winning plays will be read and performed for one another in a safe, supportive environment.
