Introduction to Computers*
No experience with a computer? This is the program for you. It is basic, showing you how to turn on the computer, how the keyboard functions, providing you with computer vocabulary and personalized hands-on experience.Certificate of residency required.


Computer Literacy Applications*
This "beginning" computer course is for you if you have little to no experience with a computer. It will provide you with applications for Windows and Word and a "sneak peak" at Excel (Office 2007). In addition, it will give you the basics of using the mouse (It doesn't squeak or bite); saving your work to disk; copying a disk; terminology, and lots more. Prerequisite for Introduction to Windows. Certificate of residency required.

Introduction to the Internet*
Participants will be provided with a basic introduction to the internet and email through this exciting workshop. After completing this course, you will be able to email friends and family and view pictures over the internet. You will also be able to do internet searches and navigate websites. This course requires some familiarity with a computer. Certificate of residency required.

Digital Camera Pictures I
What to do with those pictures that are sitting in your digital camera? Want to learn how to transfer your images from your cameras to your computer? What are the various image file types and how do you know when to use each one for webpage pictures or e-mail attachments? This workshop provides basic instruction on the above topics plus PC connections and some ideas on what to do with your images after you have transferred them to your computer. (Bring your own digital camera, the USB cable to connect your camera to the computer, the memory card that holds your pictures and any software if available). Recommended prerequisite: Intro to Computers. Please note that this workshop does not teach you how to use your camera but teaches you what to do with the pictures once you have taken them.


Digital Camera Picture II: Windows Movie Maker
Now that you have your pictures in your computer, what kind of memories can you make? Learn the basic features of Windows Movie Maker, a program that is free with MS Windows. You will create a presentation with sounds, transitions, and special effects that can be burned to a CD and shared with other family members or stored on your computer. (Bring your own picture files, on a CD or flash drive, to utilize in your project).


Microsoft Outlook (2003)
Gain control over your time and information with Microsoft outlook. Learn how Outlook is more than an email application but rather a personal planner to keep you focused and ahead. This workshop will discuss the basics of outlook including email, managing contacts, scheduling, creating notes, and security.


File Management
This course is designed to teach participants where information is stored in the computer. Participants will learn file structure, selecting and managing files. Upon completion of the course, students will be familiar with the file storage structure within a computer to comfortably perform everyday file management tasks. Certificate of residency required.


NEW! Microsoft Office 2007 suite of programs

These workshops are designed for new user of Microsoft Office or current users of Microsoft Office 2003 who would like to learn the basics of Office 2007. Our experienced instructors will guide workshop participants through the basics of each program with easy projects in a relaxed, stress-free environment.


Microsoft Excel I (Entry)
This is an introductory course on using spreadsheets in Windows. Spreadsheets simplify mathematical based work by organizing information into columns and rows. You will learn the basics of a spreadsheet including: entering data, creating formulas, and using functions. You will also learn fast ways to enhance your spreadsheets using the mouse. Join our expert instructor in this introductory workshop as he guides the group through common uses of the application. Recommended Prerequisite: Introduction to Computers. Certificate of residency required.


Microsoft Excel II (Intermediate)
Use of advanced formulas, charts and multiple worksheets will be discussed and demonstrated, with examples of use. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Excel I or a good working knowledge of Excel


Microsoft Excel III (Advanced)
The use of external data sources, pivot tables, automation, and multiple spread sheet analysis will be discussed and demonstrated with examples of use. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Excel II.


Introduction to Microsoft Access
Beginning database users, this is for YOU. Students must be familiar with Windows, mouse use, and have computer experience. Concepts of a database, its terminology, and what it is used for, will all be discussed. Using Access, you will learn how to use a database program, create a simple database table, organize it, conduct queries for specific data, add new data to the table using forms, and prepare reports for printing. Certificate of residency required.


Introduction to Microsoft Word
Learn the basics of word processing in the Windows environment. You will learn to use the mouse as an efficient editing tool. Just some of the topics to be covered include: creating a form letter, cut, copy, paste, move text; select and change fonts and font size; create and modify page numbers, headers and footers; use templates, columns and tables, create folders and save documents. Certificate of residency required.


PowerPoint
Power Point is software designed for creating presentations. Our workshop is designed for the person who never used PowerPoint. The experienced instructor will lead participants though the functions of PowerPoint in a hands-on, project oriented environment.
