This course reviews fundamental mathematical skills in preparation for introductory college algebra. Course topics include set theory; the study of real numbers including integers, fractions and decimals; algebraic expressions; linear equations and an introduction to graphing on the coordinate plane.

What materials will I need for MAT098?

REQUIRED TEXTBOOK FOR THE 2009-2010 ACADEMIC YEAR:

REQUIRED MATERIALS:
A scientific calculator, with a square root function, will be required during the second half of the semester.

What websites can I use to prepare for MAT098?

The Math Department at CCC recommends that you review the following prerequisite topics to be successful in MAT098:

Basic Arithmetic Facts: adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing
Place Values: whole numbers
Word Problems: including perimeter and area of a rectangle
