Media Production


Our production facility is called the TLC (Teaching and Learning Center). 
    • Who: Faculty and staff, and students who have permission from a professor and Media staff.
    • Where: In the library, past the Media Services office, room 201. 
    • When: Available on a walk-in basis.

NOTE: The processes below require multiple-step, rather complex, and sometimes very wasteful operations, if you’re unfamiliar with our toolset. Please contact us, and allow us to help you plan, prepare, and to guide you along the processes... we’re here to help you, and happy to teach you "how it’s done!"

35 mm Slides, Digitizing help 
Digitized slide images can be incorporated into a variety of formats, ready for insertion into posters, DVD or web video, PowerPoint presentations, Word processor documents, etc.

CD, CD-ROM, and DVD Copying and Labeling help 
    • Copying: The TLC has two disc duplicators: Microboards Orbit II and Bravo II Disc Publisher. 
    • Labels can be printed using Bravo II Disc Publisher.


Poster Printing
Our HP 800 printer creates posters 36" wide, and as long as you want! We provide assistance and advice in creating large format print content.

Scanners
Four workstations equipped with flatbed scanners, enabling the conversion of photos and non-electronic printed content into digital media.

Specialized Software
    • Camtasia/SnagIt: Screen and audio recording, and screen capture. 
    • CoolEdit Pro: Audio creation and manipulation. 
    • DVDLab: DVD authoring 
    • Illustrator: Vector graphics creation and manipulation. 
    • Impatica: PowerPoint presentation compression software – enables web-ready PowerPoints with audio. 
    • Photoshop: Rasterized (“pictures” – jpg, tiff, etc.) image manipulation, touch-up and effects. 
    • Premiere: Non-linear digital video editing.

Video Production Services
1 dedicated 2-monitor non-linear editing system, capable of editing/transferring/encoding to/from VHS, DVD, MiniDV, and any analog A/V source.

We provide assistance in all aspects of creating digital video content: Content creation & scripting advice, digital camcorder operations, full non-linear editing capabilities, DVD authoring and “web-stream ready” video encoding.
