INFO: How to have both Portrait and Landscape in One Document
Back to Microsoft Word®
Posted on 11.01.04

Have you ever wanted both “portrait” and “landscape” in one document?  To insert a different paper orientation, follow the instructions below.   In every place where you want to change page orientations, insert a Section Break in the document.

1)     Click on the top of the page you want to change the orientation.
2)     Click on Insert, Break, Next Page Section Break
3)     Follow this procedure again when you want to change the pages back to the original
        orientation.
4)     Click on the beginning of the document where you first inserted your Section Break and go to
FilePage Setup, change the orientation as appropriate, and make sure that Apply
To is set to This Section.

You can highlight the text you want to change and change the orientation as usual but in the Apply To box, click Selected Text.  Word will automatically insert the section breaks before and after the pages with the new orientation.
