Have you ever presented a PowerPoint slide show and wondered how the attendees are receiving the material? This workshop provides a demonstration of Turning Point Technologies audience response system; it is useful for anyone who currently uses PowerPoint. Audience response systems allow any Power Point presentation attendee to silently respond, via a “clicker”, to questions posed on selected slides. Attend this workshop and follow along as an existing passive slide show is transformed into an interactive slide show. Then grab a clicker and participate as the presenter runs through the interactive presentation.

In defining service learning, Learn and Serve America states the following:
Service-learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.
Service learning is a valuable tool for educators who want students to experience, first-hand, topics covered in the course. Instructors who incorporate service learning into the curriculum provide students with the opportunity to take their education out of the classroom and into the real world, thereby connecting them to the community and enabling them to apply what they are learning to real-life situations. This workshop will provide a basic overview of service learning and its benefits, along with some examples of how service learning is incorporated across disciplines.
