50 Ways to Help
50 Things a CCC Alumnus can do for the College
Admission Recruiting:
- Write letters, make phone calls, serve on admissions recruitment committee, host a red carpet evening locally (inviting high school students and parents to come to an admissions presentation about the college), host a student send-off party for new incoming freshman, donate a college give away prize, serve as an alumni host at freshman orientation or open house, donate refreshments, make a gift presentation at the local high school awards night in honor of the incoming freshmen from that school (could be a scholarship).
Student and Career Services:
- Come back to campus and serve in an alumni/student career day, serve as a mentor, hire a student as an intern for the summer or semester, provide a scholarship, come back to campus and lecture in the classroom, put your name on a gift (something for a new building).
Boards and Associations:
- Serve on the Alumni Association Board, Foundation Board and/or committee, write letters for and make calls for or serve as the annual campaign coordinator, serve a reunion class gift leader, volunteer your time in the Admissions, alumni or development office, match gifts made in annual fund, help identify potential donors, assist in calling on a potential donor, sever on a prospecting committee for donors, serve on special events committee, host a special event, identify good speakers for an event, support athletic events, serve as trustee, make a substantial major or planned gift, write an article for the newsletter, help locate lost alumni and update records, provide a testimony for the college, donate to the student emergency fund.
Graduation & others:
- Serve on a commencement committee, robe on behalf of your 20th, 25th, 30th etc. anniversary class, serve as a host to international students during holidays, join the athletic booster club, support the college by attending events (especially homecoming) host a reception in your home, assist in legislative efforts (write letters of support), wear your colors and logos, PAY YOUR ALUMNI DUES, DONATE TO ANNUAL ALUMNI GIFT FUND, be a leader and a good representative, be successful and remember your roots, talk about Clinton Community College where ever you go.
