Grant Development Procedure
This summary is supported by the Grant Development and Administration policy of the college. This piece serves to expedite the process of securing grants but it must be remembered all elements of grant development must be accomplished according to the established policy.
Overview:
The oversite and submission of grants at Clinton Community College is the responsibility of the Office of Institutional Advancement with, and after the approval of the College President and Chief Financial Officer.
Steps:
- If appropriate, gain the support of divisional/administration colleagues. (Often grants originate outside of faculty divisions) Questions to answer:
a. Does the grant support the college's mission, vision and values
statement?
b. Does the Grant support our Strategic Plan?
c. How will the grant benefit CCC?
d. Is the grant fundamental to the teaching/learning process or campus health or safety?
- Write a short proposal and share the proposal, outlining the requirements and outcomes of the grant, with the Office of Institutional Advancement. The proposeal shall include the department and individuals involved in the grant. The Office of Institutional Advancment will share the proposal with the appropriate administrative officess and gain the approval of the President to proceed.
- Complete the grant process including the source of any funding.
- Submit the completed grant to the Office of Institutional Advancement for final review and for final Presidential approval.
All grants are received by the Office of Institutional Advancement in the name of the College or in the event it must be a 501C-3 entity, the College Foundation.
If the grant is rejected, the Office of Institutional Advancement and the developer(s) will review that outcome and determine if the grant should be resubmitted. If it is agreed the grant should be resubmitted, the grant development process will be followed.
If the grant is received, the Office of Institutional Advancement provides copies of the grant to the developer(s) and business office and provides information to the President, public relations and the Board of Trustees.
Grant developer(s) maintain and monitor the grant with periodic reports (as scheduled) with the Office of Institutional Advancement. All reporting is to be handled by the develop(s) unless otherwise agreed upon.
