The Humanities Division includes all faculty who teach reading, writing, and communication skills, or courses in the humanities.
A general definition of humanities is the study of human thought and creativity. Humanities disciplines include the creative and performing arts such as drawing, painting, photography, music, and theater, as well as philosophy, literature, and foreign language.
Students take courses in the humanities to fulfill requirements in all of CCC's degree and certificate programs.
The associate's degree in Humanities/Social Sciences is intended to prepare students to transfer into bachelor's degree programs and major in any of the humanities disciplines, one of the social sciences, or education . Articulation agreements designed to parallel the first sixty credits of study toward specific bachelor's degree programs are also available .
