Commonly Asked Questions from Our Students:

  1. What is my username and password?
We have a created USERNAME and PASSWORD scheme that uses information you already know: the first four letters of your last name and the last four digits of your social security number is your USERNAMEExample: smit6789.

Your password for the first time (and each Fall) is your Social Security Number without the hyphens.  You will need to select a new password by using the Password Reset link (located on the left side of any of the Networking and Information Services web pages) prior to having access to the Student Webmail, Student Portal or Library Databases.  You do not to be on campus in order to do this.  Feel free to reset your password any time you would like and especially if you feel your password has been compromised.

Remember to always use lower case for your USERNAME and PASSWORD.

  2. How can I change my password?
By using the Password Reset link or by following the steps below if you are on campus:

    1.  Log onto a computer here on campus.
    2.  Once logged in, press and  hold the Ctrl (Control) key and the Alt (Alternate) key at the

    3.  Click on the Change Password button .  The system will ask you for your current
password, a new password and ask that you confirm the new password.

  3. What is my email address?
A student email address is different from our faculty/staff.  Your email address is example@students.clinton.edu.  Use your username instead of the word example.  Students receive 30MB limit with a 25 MB warning of storage space.

  4. How long will my emails stay in my Webmail?
Each Fall we completely reload the student file.  This means anything saved in your Webmail area will be removed.

  5. Can I print from my laptop if I have a wireless connection?
No, you will not be able to print from your laptop.  Save your document to your network space and print from one of our labs.
